The Grayl GeoPress® is fast and ridiculously easy to use, and it's packed with features. Fill, press, and drink! That’s the nuts and bolts of making clean, great tasting water with Grayl.
PULL APART WITH EASE
Grasp the Inner Press with one hand and the Outer Cup with the other, then pull apart. A quick twist helps to initiate separation.
FILL FROM ANY WATER SOURCE
Scoop from a stream or lake, or fill from any bathroom sink or rustic hostel tap.
VENT THE CAP
Twist the SimpleVent™ cap 1/2 turn to allow air to vent during purification process.
PRESS TO FILTER & PURIFY
Utilizing your body weight, press with steady downward force, palms on either side of the cap.
DRINK FILTERED & PURIFIED WATER
Ridiculously fast and easy; makes clean drinking water in ~8 seconds - anywhere!
EXTRA WATER STORAGE
Bring an extra bottle or hydration reservoir to store larger capacities of clean water.
ROTATE CLOCKWISE TO LOCK.
Proper removal and installation of an GeoPress® cartridge prevents cross-contamination.
REMOVAL
Firmly grasp the Inner Press. Rotate the cartridge counter-clockwise until it separates from the Inner Press.
INSTALLATION
Firmly grasp the Inner Press. Insert cartridge into the bottom of the Inner Press.
ROTATE & LOCK
Rotate the cartridge clockwise (righty tighty) until you feel it lock into place.
DON'T USE SOAP ON CARTRIDGE.
Never wash the cartridge with soap or other cleaning agents. Soap will damage the cartridge media. You may rinse a cartridge with clean water as needed.
LONG-TERM STORAGE
Thoroughly dry cartridge by performing 1-2 'dry presses' (pressing without any water in the bottle) and empty excess water. Remove cartridge and allow it to air dry completely (depending on humidity it can take 2 - 4 days). Hand wash all other parts with warm, soapy water. Reassemble GeoPress to create air tight seal for storage. Cartridges can last up to 3 years after opening if cared for properly between uses.
SHORT-TERM STORAGE
Thoroughly dry cartridge by performing 1-2 ‘dry presses’ by pressing the wet Cartridge into an empty (no water) Outer ReFill and dump excess water. Allow cartridge to air-dry overnight.
pro tips
COLD CARE (FREEZING TEMPS)
Cartridges are not significantly degraded after one freeze/thaw cycle. However, don’t use a cartridge after 3 or more freeze/thaw cycles. Protect your GeoPress® in freezing temperatures by keeping it full of water and insulate in a jacket or sleeping bag.
CAMP COOKING WITH GRAYL
GeoPress® makes clean drinking water in a blazing fast 8 seconds for your filtration and purification needs. It's great for producing clean water for hydrating, cooking meals, or making coffee.
