CLICK TO LOCK.
Proper removal and installation of an UltraPress® cartridge prevents cross-contamination.
CARTRIDGE REMOVAL
Locate the cartridge “lock tab” at bottom of Inner Press. Then pull out the “lock tab”and unscrew the cartridge counter-clockwise (lefty loosey) until it separates from the Inner Press.
CARTRIDGE INSTALL
Firmly grasp Inner Press, then insert cartridge into bottom of Inner Press.
ROTATE & LOCK
Rotate the cartridge clockwise (righty tighty) until you feel the 'lock tab' firmly click into the lock slot. Do not over tighten.
DON'T USE SOAP ON CARTRIDGE.
Never wash the cartridge with soap or other cleaning agents. Soap will damage the cartridge media. You may rinse a cartridge with clean water as needed.
LONG-TERM STORAGE
Thoroughly dry cartridge by performing 1-2 'dry presses' (pressing without any water in the bottle) and empty excess water. Remove cartridge and allow it to air dry completely (depending on humidity it can take 2 - 4 days). Hand wash all other parts with warm, soapy water. Reassemble UltraPress to create air tight seal for storage. Cartridges can last up to 3 years after opening if cared for properly between uses.
SHORT-TERM STORAGE
Thoroughly dry cartridge by performing 1-2 ‘dry presses’ by pressing the wet Cartridge into an empty (no water) Outer ReFill and dump excess water. Allow cartridge to air-dry overnight.
pro tips
COLD CARE (FREEZING TEMPS)
Cartridges are not significantly degraded after one freeze/thaw cycle. However, don’t use a cartridge after 3 or more freeze/thaw cycles. Protect your UltraPress® in freezing temperatures by keeping it full of water and insulate in a jacket or sleeping bag.
